Our Town of Wallkill Police Department has made incredible strides over the years, and their dedication to keeping our community safe is something we should all be proud of. Thanks to strong leadership, effective policies, and ongoing investment in training and equipment, our department has become one of the best in the region.
With 56 officers—and another being added this year—our PD is well-equipped to serve and protect. Their accreditation, body cameras, K9 Unit, drone technology, and UTV for off-road rescues are just a few examples of the progress we’ve made. Plus, the recently built climate-controlled kennel ensures that stray animals are cared for humanely until they can be placed in a shelter.
All of these efforts have paid off—Wallkill was recently ranked #8 in the top 20 safest small towns in the U.S., according to a MoneyGeek analysis. That’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers.
As Supervisor, I will continue to support the policies that have made our police department stronger and ensure they have the tools and resources they need to keep Wallkill safe.
